This watch has features I want at a glance, such as:
Day of the Week
Today's Date
Time of Day (in optional Military/24hr display)
Relatively large time display
It also has:
Hourly Beep
Several Alarm Settings
I had originally bought this model at K-Mart. A year later I needed to replace the band. K-mart was no help. I went to a jeweler and bought a band for $10 rather than buy a different model watch. This display was too good a fit for me. Even when a piece of the casing started to peel off some time later a dab of crazy glue fixed that. It was when the second band went that I decided to see if I could find a replacement band online and came across the same model watch at a price a little more than replacing the band. I ordered the watch.
I have yet to see another watch where the display is as useful and easy to read for me. I want a watch that I do not need to put on my glasses for every time I use it. This watch fits the bill. At under $20, it is hard to beat. What will I do when I see a need for a new band or watch again? Look here to see if this model is still available. Flashy? Nope. Easy reading and the functions I want? Yup. Even has a timer (great on laundry day) and a stop watch.

After ordering two cheap Casio watches, I decided on this Armitron.....should have bought this one first.Great watch with everything I expect on my everyday watch..You can also read it without a magnifying glass or extra light.At this price you can buy a new one every year.FREE SHIPPING TOO!! Being someone who hates watches, I was pleasently suprised with this one. I needed something that would keep accurate time for my job that was also quite durable and could fit on my tiny wrist as many others could not without getting them sized. This watch is perfect ! I has dual time and and option to see the date (much needed for me). The functions are quite easy to use and the watch itself lasts a really long time. I have never noticed it losing time and the worst problem I've had with it is the black color fading over a long period of time from being repeatedly banged and rubbed against objects. I've had this watch for years now and it has been through quite a lot. I don't think I have ever taken it off and I have had no problems with it being in water, even muddy water. I'm quite nit-picky and accidently broke my backlight which has made me for this same watch for quite a while (I simply don't want to use a different one). I'm quite pleased that I found it and at such a wonderful price ! This watch is worth way more than you'll have to pay for it.

My old Armitron Chronograph finally crashed due to old age, and I was very fond of it. Very tough watch, and I've been wearing it for years, through several batteries and several bands. When it crashed, I went hunting for a new watch, preferably the same one. Scored at Amazon, and purchased it immediately. The identical watch, albeit the functions were slightly different from my original. The fun part was discovering the price! My original one was over $60 years ago, and the new one was less than $20 -- hurray! I got my money's worth out of the old one, and expect to do the same with the new one; same tough construction as the original watch.
Highly recommend Armitron watches; they wear like cast iron. I'm not getting any younger either, and having the nice big face where I can easily see the time is a BIG plus for me. *grin*

it's durable, waterproof, and even has a glowing feature and a 24-hour time option (a must for me.) but here are the things that this watch doesn't have, but which the timex watch i had did:
-- it beeps every time you hit a button, and you can't change this.
-- when setting time, timer, or alarm, you can only increment the units of time. if you pass the number of seconds you're trying to get to, you have to press the button 59 times--you can't go backward.
-- you cannot set the timer to repeat automatically. if you are doing intervals, then every time it beeps you need to hit reset twice and then hit start to get it to go again.
