Practical watch for the surfer in youJul 29, 2009
By Eagle Vision Well, I do body boarding and I wanted a water resistant watch that was not terribly expensive. This is a cost effective timepiece given the functions and design.
The durability of the watch for 200m is good for someone with an active lifestyle in the water. This is a simple watch that has a timer, stopwatch, 3 alarms, and illuminated hands for when you are reading the time in the dark. The light allows for viewing in total darkness but the script can be small for some folks. The moon data is nice to have, but not something that I depend upon.
The band is comfortable and the watch is solid in construction. I do find reading the digital time and date difficult with the hands in the way but it is not a deal breaker. The protective crystal is scratch resistant but not protected by the bezel.
It is a solid choice for a person with an active lifestyle.

Great allround outdoor sports watchApr 07, 2010

My wife bought me this fantastic watch a little over three years ago and it is still going strong. There's hardly a scratch on the crystal which suggests it's good quality, bearing in mind the tortures I have put this watch through. I have travelled all over the Northern territory of Australia, South East Asia and New Zealand with this watch, and believe me when I say it has copped a beating.
Main reason for travelling with this particular watch is that it's got dual time. Actally 3 times zones with the analogue display. The resin band is very comfortable and the water resistance is 200 metres (660 feet) Having 3 alarms is handy on the go for reminding you about activities you have booked.
The watch, like most Casios, features a countdown timer, stopwatch and electro luminscence lighting, and this model featues a tide graph and a moon phase indicator. Just make sure you set the home site data. It's also got an auto light.
With the negatives on this model I find the digital reading can be obscured by the analogue hands which is annoying when you have set 3 different times zones, otherwise using it in my home city it's not such a drama. The resin band for some reason is subject to building up quite alot of the white powdery dust on this model compared to other resin bands I own, but this is easily cleaned with a soft cloth.
All in all I really like this model and wear it all the time due to it ruggedness. I would definatley recommend this watch for people who like outoor activities. Or for anyone who happens like the look of them.

Honest little watchMar 14, 2012
By Al Mcd. Nothing too fancy, tide and moon phase are interesting features.
However for $42 plus free 2 day prime shipping this is a great buy. 200M water resist, analogue hands with digital face works well. Not sure why Casio would mark the outside bezel with N,S,E,W as there is no compass function.
I bought this watch to wear catamaran sailing so the 200M water resist is important to me. The size is not too big and the band while feeling plasticy is not uncomfortable.
$42 you cant go wrong with value for money.

Not Just for SurfersDec 21, 2011

I've had this watch for exactly one year and it works like a champ. I am far from a surfer, far from it, almost polar opposites, I am more of a geek, who can easily spend hours tucked away working on computers and the like (although I do like body surfing and boogie boarding :) Anyway, here are my pros and cons about this fine timepiece.
PROS:
-Both digital and analog, which is not really necessary, but cool nonetheless. Apparently a lot of people I know think so too, as they are always wondering where I got the watch. -Waterproof, although most watches like this are these days, still, some are not. - Really durable. While I may be most of the time a geek or nerd, this watch has seen the Atlantic Ocean, the mountains of New Hampshire and Oregon, and the creeks of the mountains, bicycling, etc. The watch walked away with minimal and I mean MINIMAL scratches. - Stylish. Digital and analog are a good compliment to outdoorness and if necessary a party. Although if you are more of a partygoer I would recommend a more formal watch, but if you only go once and awhile, you'll be fine. - Another cool little bell and whistle is that it tells you how the moon will look at night and it also tells the tides.
CONS:
Not really many, but I would recommend taking it off while you sleep. I have a bad habit of sleeping with mine on and it has a few scratches now but take it off and you should be good to go. Also, if you get one of these, hold on to the manual that comes with it, you might need it for setting it up and or switching the time forward/back at daylight savings.
End result: If your looking for a good watch that is rugged, stylish, and generally just outright cool, how can you deny for forty bucks?
S.O.
