very versatile watchFeb 14, 2008
By LP This watch is great for using in the healthcare field. Its water proof, and it has both a digital and analog display WITH second hand. A second hand is a must for counting pulse and respirations. I always have the digital time set to 24 hour time, and I use the analog for everyday 12 hour. It also has a separate display that shows the current day and date. Having all of these features displayed at once (24 hour, 12 hour, day, date and second hand) is just very convenient. I liked it so much that I bought another in case something happens to my first. Good job Casio! Nice practical design. Thanks for having a second hand on this watch.

Durable and accurateSep 15, 2008
By Christopher Luebcke Love this watch. I've had it for a couple of months and it's put up with a reasonable amount of abuse so far, including underwater. It has just the right number of features for a lifestyle of moderate exercise and frequent public transit use, and I think it looks pretty slick as well. I took the advice in the instructions about synchronizing the analog and digital times, and I'm pleased (and surprised) to report that they're still perfectly in synch after the aforementioned couple months. Great buy.

good cheap watchFeb 28, 2008
By Paul D. Eberhardt I've been wearing this watch for almost 4 years and haven't even put a battery in it. It's got everything I need and with 2 digital displays it's got a lot of info at a glance. I really like the auto-light feature. I'm totally sold on Casio now.

Watch fine, band terribleJan 23, 2011
By Bryan I purchased this watch as a daily watch that would get some abuse and sweat. I liked the fact that it had both an analog and digital portion. I cannot comment much on the function of the watch because I did not keep it. The wristband was about the weirdest design I had ever seen. I am a 6'2" male with fairly skinny wrists (~ 6.75 inch circumference). The watch band caused the watch to sit way up above my wrist to the point that it looked very awkward. Not only that, it isn't the thinnest of watches to begin with, so I would fear it would be getting caught on things all the time. If I tightened the band way down, I could get some of the gap to go away, but at this point the watch was simply uncomfortable to wear. Given the good reviews, I assume most people did not have this problem except for the couple that said exactly what I am telling you. Also, the weird undulations in the band as seen by the picture are not soft and stretchy like I had imagined. Instead it is hard, stiff plastic which I assume is the source of the problem.

Perfect Watch for EMS careerJul 28, 2010
By awingandaprayer After passing my EMT course, I wanted to purchase a watch with features that would assist me in performing my job. Through taking the course I began to think of some of the features I wanted in a watch, and some of the experienced EMTs gave me some pointers as well. Here is the set of criteria for which I was looking:
1. Sweep second hand (this makes taking vital signs such as heart rate much easier). 2. Digital display of date, at least month and day (This makes it easy for checking mental status and filling out reports). 3. Digital display of time in military time (in EMS time is recorded for everything, ABSOLUTELY everything; and the use of military time is universal). 4. Ability to display both 2. and 3. at the same time (elimitates having to cycle through your watch on a call). 5. Durable (because it could be knocked around). 6. Water Resistant (In case, body fluids got on the watch, I could thoroughly clean it without worrying about compromising the integrity of the watch).
It took this set of guidelines and began my watch search in some of the retail outlets near where I live. When I couldn't find any there, I began looking online. I was very frustrated by the fact that no one seemed to make an "EMT friendly" watch.
It took me a little while to find this watch, but it met all of the criteria I had established for a good EMS watch. It also had a few other useful features of which I hadn't thought. For example, this watch has a night mode, where if you hold the watch in front of you and tilt it towards yourself, it will turn on the backlight. This could be very useful in dimly light situations where you are trying to take a set of vitals. The disadvantage is that the backlight is green rather than red.
Overall, I am very pleased that I purchased this watch. I hope it will serve me for many years in the field.
