Its made of stainless steel wich makes it a lilttle heavy. I like its curved shape, adjust very well to my wrist. Also the box is very nice.

Be WarnedSep 08, 2010
By M. Dingwell Not sure whether to train my guns at the manufacturer or the retailer so I'll just lay the facts down as they are and I'll let you decide. Firstly, the watch is beautiful. It's medium sized but fits perfectly on my small wrist. The leather band seems to be of good quality and the design of the dial is beautiful. Overall the watch has a very classy look and based on looks alone I would give the watch five stars. However, I have some issues with the quality of this watch.
The chronograph hand does not reset exactly to the 12 0'clock position, it's slightly off. At first I thought that it needed to be set (since some watches come with the chronograph hand off the 12 o'clock mark)so I pulled out the crown to the second position and I pressed the top button until it got to 12 and low and behold,no matter how many times I did this, the Chrono hand would not sit exactly on the 12 so I figured that this must be a manufacturers flaw. That's strike one. You decide if that strike goes to croton or the company I bought this watch from off Amazon.
The watch is supposed to be new but when I received it I found evidence that seems to suggest that it was used. First off, there was no protective plastic covering the glass. I bought another Croton and the glass was covered with a thin piece of plastic (I'm not impressed with that one either). I suspect that the plastic was removed. that's strike two. Again you can decide if that strike goes to croton or the company I bought this watch from off Amazon.
I noticed several scratches on the edge of the stainless steel case. I figured that they got there because the watch had two pieces of removable plastic, one had the word quarts and the other I can't remember at this moment, however I believe that the edges of the watch would have rubbed against the edges of the pieces of plastic in the case causing the scratches. That's strike three and I think that this one goes to Croton for a cheaply constructed and awful looking case (when you get in in your hands you can examine the quality for yourself).
In addition, when you open the case there is a section that you can pull down which contains a little booklet and instruction sheet on how to use the watch. that section came apart after about a couple of weeks. And finally, the workmanship on the stainless steel case isn't good. It looks good at a glance but on close inspection wou will notice that the quality is not that of a watch that supposedly retails for over $300. And the umpires says: "you're out".
Quality is about the attention that you pay to the little things and this watch though beautiful, imitates good quality yet fails to deliver in so many areas, that's why in my opinion it has struck out. So there you have it, I think I fired at both parties as I believe they are both at fault here. So be warned, wherever you buy a Croton don't expect it to be a high end product because it's not. Once you've lowered your expectations as much as the difference between the list price and the sale price of this item, you'll be ok.
