Nice watch - a little hard to readJan 24, 2008

I ordered this watch because I wanted a dressy watch with dual analog and digital displays. I need the digital alarm because I'm kind of bad forgetting appointments. It fills all these needs very nicely. What I didn't realize from the picture is how difficult it is to read the light gold hands of the watch against the white background. In addition, the second hand is as thick as the other hands, so I can't glance at the watch and read the time. That was the whole point of the "analog" display, and I'm a little disappointed in the readability. But I like the functions and the fact that it is water-resistant down to 100m (it says in the manual don't use it for SCUBA, but swimming is fine).
Another point for any bracelet watch: if you think you're going to adjust the wristband with your jeweler's screwdriver, think again. I used my smallest 1/32" screwdriver and it was too big to remove the little screws holding the watchband together. I paid a jeweler to adjust it for me for $15, which is OK, just factor the cost and time into your watch shopping when you get any bracelet watch. It WON'T come in the mail fitting your wrist.
One last gripe: the alarm didn't sound the first time I set it (to wake up for an airplane flight), and shortly thereafter the digital part of the watch reset to January 1! Must have some software bug. But since then, the alarm has worked fine. Probably just needed a reset... Lousy software engineers (I'm one, too).

Pulsar Watch is good, ButJun 13, 2011
By Guy W. Bohner Pros: It has the Analog and Digital features I wanted, i.e. digial alarm and timer. It is attractive looking. Prompt delivery from Amazon. Cons: Very difficult to read the time. The hands are very thin and hard to find on the white background. The minute hand is almost the same width and length as the second hand.
Some people complained about difficulty of adjusting the band. I took it to JC Penny and they did it for free. You just have to use a needle/pin and push hard on the pins in the direction of the arrow. These are not spring loaded pins - you must push them all the way thru.
I used to have a very similar Pulsar with a dark face. I like it much better because it was easy to read the time. Over the years, I have owned 3 or 4 or those, but they are no longer available.

By Chocowinity Great watch if you need an alarm to wake you up or for appointments. Looks good on wrist. I had a black faced one before and it was easier to read but once you get used to this one it is not bad.
