5Form and FunctionApr 27, 2009
By Mike in IN
Not only is this watch visually striking, but it gives up the time at a glance. I got a tremendous deal on it when I caught wind of an invitation-only 50% off sale at a nearby jeweler, but it's worth the price it's listed for as well. I joked with the sales lady that it should be discounted because it has no "3"; the calendar display is in place of that number. I told her unless it was the 3rd of the month I was going to be confused twice a day. BUT ANYWAY... I love it. I had a Seiko before this and had no problems with it, it's still running as a matter of fact and it's a fuzzy memory when I bought it. I agree with the other reviews that the big numbers are great if your eyes aren't what they used to be. Classy leather band stands out amongst the "robo-watches" that are out there now, all metal and look like they might transform into a robot or something. In a word, this watch is "distinguished".

5Great watchNov 03, 2009
By Tezza "Tezza"
I wanted a watch with a leather wrist strap (more comfortable than metal, in my opinion). I've always liked Seiko watches for their dependability, classic styling. Seiko's are the Toyota Camry of watches.

So I ordered this one because of the leather strap, large watch face and classic executive styling.

The watch arrived and the first thing I had to do was set the day/date. I misread the instructions and didn't set it right the first day, but the next day I figured it out.

The watch is a little thicker than I first expected. Not a slimline watch. Also the band is somewhat light brown with sort of alligator styling cues. I figured the band would darkent down over time.

The watch face is easy to read and looks good. The watch exudes quality that you'd expect in a $100 plus watch, and perhaps feels like it could be worth more. So I'm definitely feeling the value.

All told, the watch is comfortable and easy to use. It's a classic looking watch.

The only downside for me is I need to wear my glasses to read the day/date (I'm getting to be an old fogey) and the watch is perhaps slightly chunkier than expected.

Also, the second hand ticks (one second per tick) rather than sweeps (would have preferred the sweeping hand).

I do feel this watch is excellent value - it is probably worth the full list price of $165 or even more.

Oddly enough I find the price on this watch seems to change daily.

If you like the look of this watch you won't be disappointed.

5Accuracy affordableOct 09, 2008

I am 57 y.o. man and most of my watches are Seiko. They are quartz accurate and not too expensive. This watch has everything I want from a dress watch. Date and day, sweep second hand and low light readability. The two tone case fits with other jewelry. Only one tiny con is that every 30 day or shorter month has to be reset. It's easy to set but it just bugs me. Good value and durability.

4Nice for the priceOct 21, 2008

This is a good watch that can be worn in virtually any situation and at a reasonable price.

The only drawback is that the gold-tone hands don't stand out enough against the white dial. If the hands were black instead of gold, it would be just about the perfect watch.

5A handsome watch at a great price!Nov 06, 2011
By CHERYL ANN "'HANGS OUT' @ LIBRARY!"
I bought this watch for my husband and he loves it. He has already gotten compliments on it. He loves that it is a Seiko and that it comes with a guarantee, and that it will be easy to find batteries for it, and to get it repaired. He loves the large numbers, and brown leather strap. It was very resonably priced. I would feel comfortable buying another Seiko from Amazon.
