Like mechanical and quartz, Kinetic is a platform. Over the past 20 years, SEIKO has created on this platform a suite of Kinetic movements, each bringing unique features to the consumer.
It was at the 1986 Basel Fair that SEIKO unveiled its first Kinetic prototype. Introduced under the trial name of 'AGM', it was the first watch in the world to convert kinetic movement into electrical energy. It was the first step in a development that, 20 years later, has made Kinetic synonymous with environmental friendliness, high performance and long-lasting convenience to a generation of users worldwide. From the launch in 1988 of the first commercially available watch (then under the new name AGS) until today, over eight million Kinetic watches have been sold (as of 2007).
In 1998, Kinetic Auto Relay was released, extending the 'at-rest' operating period of the watch to a remarkable 4 years. 1999 saw the launch of the Ultimate Kinetic Chronograph, a masterpiece which fused the very best of SEIKO's mechanical and electronic watch making skills, and in 2003 another Kinetic Chronograph was launched. At Baselworld 2005, the Kinetic Perpetual made its first appearance, combining Kinetic convenience and longevity with a perpetual calendar, correct to the year 2100. In 2007, SEIKO's emotional technology Kinetic Direct Drive is introduced.

Great Kinetic DiverJan 23, 2009

For the money you can't beat this watch! I work in the watch repair field so I get the chance to handle all sorts of watches on a daily basis. This one is top notch! Build quality is superb, not the typical folded link bracelet most Seiko's come with, this one is solid stainless steel, and wears great. As with most Seiko Divers sizing is a bit of an issue, they utilize steel pins with small collars that hold the links in place so be careful if you try to do this yourself. The case and bracelet intergrate nicely, and although this is a pretty heafty chunk of stainless steel it is really comfortable, even on my skinny wrists. The movement is not an auto relay, meaning if you let its capacitor run down it will not keep internal time, but that really isnt an issue if you wear it. Accuracy is good, I havent noticed any difference between this watch and my Citizen Skyhawk Atomic watch. All in all for the price you cannot beat the quality of the case, bracelet and accuracy of the movement, a very good value in my opinion.

Seiko Diver's Kinetic Yellow 200M WatchFeb 09, 2008

This watch makes the third Seiko watch I own. I truly believe that Seiko provides a product above all others, specifically when addressing quality and reliability. I purchased a Seiko diver's watch back in 1977 and I still have it and yes, still ticking. This one is beautiful, comfortable and I truly believe it will be a long, long ticker. Definitely got my money's worth. One thing kind of negative about the seller, not the watch, the watch was advertised with the metal stainless band, but what I received was the rubber wrist band instead. I did try to work out a purchase deal for a stainless wrist band with the seller, but was never given a response, not even an acknowledgment, mind you, I offer to pay for it.

Outstanding ValueJan 11, 2009
By Tool Time I have owned a Citizen Aqualand CO22 dive watch for over 20 years and when its analog movement finally needed service, I had to send it to Citizen in Tokyo for a month. As I needed a backup quickly I bought the Seiko SKA367 200 meter dive watch for $187.00 including shipping from amazon.com. I couldn't be happier with the low price, quick delivery, and the quality of this timepiece.
An international effort, the SKA367 Kinetic Diver is assembled in Singapore; its kinetic movement is from Japan; the stainless steel bracelet is from China. Everything comes together very well and Seiko really got it right with an affordable, low maintenance, accurate, and rugged dive watch.
In the eight days I've owned it, the SKA367 has gained a little over one second, surprising accuracy for a dive watch that cost less than $200. The weight of the watch, while noticeable at first, soon vanished. I hate to over-use the analogy, but this watch is "built like a tank". The sunny yellow dial is big and the black hands stand out in bold relieve - easy to read, even for my old eyes. I replaced the bracelet with a Hadley Roma rubber dive strap with yellow stitching for comfortable everyday wear.
I plan to use this watch for snorkeling and diving, but in the meantime I'm enjoying it for daily use.

good tough watchMay 17, 2011
By m4ttgeronimo I ordered this watch about 4 or 5 months ago. It turned up no trouble.
I have used it diving about 6 or 7 times since. The yellow face makes it very easy to see and read at depth and it works a treat. I have only used it down to about 20 metres. The watch is quite chunky but once on the wrist does not look out of place even on a smaller wrist (like mine!) wearing it to work in an office etc.
I'm not a watch buff but own a couple. The movement on this is very smooth. It took approximately two months for the battery to build up to full charge.
The only issue was that two links needed to be taken out to fit my wrist. I expect it was probably due to the shops that did this (one took out each link). However, shortly after each time the actual pins fell out and the watch dropped off my wrist (once underwater). Like I said, reasonably sure that this would not be an issue with the watch itself but seems strange two watch shops would independently make the same mistake.
Despite this I would have no hesitation to buy the watch again. I'm very happy with it and it is great value for money.

Great WatchDec 10, 2008

I've just got it and its awesome. I read a watch review on www.watchreport.com and they are correct. This watch has so many things going for it..... First the case. Its built like a tank. The yellow dial gives you a sunny dispoition in the cold winter months.....The bracelet is one of the best I've worn. This is pretty comparable to watches that are worth $1000 and up.... I've very impress with the bracelet..... Kentic movemnet is pretty nice, don't have to worry about changing the battery for a long time.....and maybe forever..... Its a thick and heavy watch, but it looks really good, the photo doesn't do justice to the watch....Great job Seiko.. Currently its really cheap at Amazon right now fot the Holiday shopping....
