Seiko might as well call this 'The Explorer'Jun 19, 2011
By Roy This is a great watch for expeditions, hiking, trailing, camping and backpacking! Its automatic movement ensures that you never have to worry about changing the battery. The map-meter function is truly unique! It can be used to measure the distance between two points on a map, so that you can keep track of your hiking/backpacking progress just by looking at the watch. The compass is not the easiest to use, but its not too hard to figure out, and it works great! I tested the watch by submerging it in 12.5 feet of water for 15 minutes and there appears to be no problems. Lastly, the watch is really heavy - 10.56 ounces! But I wonder if weight was one of the things Seiko had to compromise to retain its automatic movement. Also, I had to get 3 links removed. And I cant stress enough how much of a relief it is knowing that I don't have to change the battery ever again, because once you change the battery, the manufacturer will NOT guarantee that it is water resistance. Overall, this watch is truly unique in that it is automatic, has a map-meter (which is unique in itself) and a compass! No other watch has this combination! Most watches that have a compass use a quartz movement. This turned out to be a very, very satisfying purchase. Thank you Amazon!

By filiglez my friends, do not want this negative comment, but I have no other choice. The clock by which I choose and buy, I consider it a good brand, I like its design and others, I have always purchased Seiko watches, and I think are very good quality, but, since he acquired, he began to too far ahead, so I was forced to return, is a very bad experience that happened to me, and do not understand what happened, in this purchase I spent a lot of money, not just buy it, but Customs and transportation, as I am living in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I repeat that I regret what happened, for I have spent enough money and I'm no watch to buy ...

Nice Watch - i wonder where it came fromJan 20, 2008
By John Wood I had looked for over two months looking for the watch that I would really want and thought I found it. When I received it after Christmas, even though I paid for expedited delivery, it was in a box too small and was partially busted open. Anyway, I opened it and was very pleased with the size and everything else. I had to have a link taken out and have had problems ever since. In fact, the links didn't have any of the barrels it need to keep the pins in. A reputable jeweler is having to order all new pins and barrels for me. I haven't been able to wear it for the last two weeks. I would have sent it back, but only unworn and unchanged watches are accepted. Never again!!
