5Excellent, very sleek, very good dealDec 30, 2009
By Jarrett Noble "GetUpStandUp"
I had to write a review to clarify some of the other complaints on this watch. First, the watch as most say is very good looking, its hard to tell from the picture but the metal is two toned. The outside columns of the band as well as the bulk of the face are a brushed duller metal that looks smooth and the center of the band is polished. There is just enough gold to strike a contrast but isn't overdone at all (im much more of a silver color person than a gold color person). It is a very good looking watch and its not too too heavy. Further the 3 dials on the face as well as the coloring set the watch of nicely. The face itself, because of the depth and its positioning appears to be a tone darker than the band and then the dials are darker still. My girlfriend and I saw it at a jewelers and it immediately stuck out from the rest, but not in s gaudy loud way, more in a classy, cigar and a glass of brandy kind of way.

Now addressing some of the other reviewers. I guess if you wanted to find a problem, I mean if you were a total cynic and just had to find something wrong with each thing you have then you could say at times it may be slightly difficult to read. To elaborate, instead of looking for 1 second, occasionally you may have to look for 2 seconds in order to see the position. Also, unless your arm is in traction and immobile, if there is a glare you just move your wrist a little, glass + light = reflection, these things happen. If your eyesight isn't the greatest up close then you would have a more valid complaint. Its still more functional than some of the other watches i have seen out there.

As to the alarm its not hard to tell when its set if you read the short instructions that come with the watch. You pull the dial out once and you hold the bottom button down, the alarm hands will rotate automatically until they hit the current time, then you push the dial back. You now know the alarm is not on if it reads right around the current time (the alarm hands will move with the hands on the face when it is not set). If its set to another hour then the alarm is on... (I guess a college education is of some use in a down economy). I don't really plan on using the alarm I have a cell phone that works excellent for that, however it would be hard to set the alarm to within a minute of when you want it to sound because the dial is small. You could, however, set it within five minutes of the desired time with just the slightest degree of effort. Somewhere between the concentration required to scratch your belly and cooking top ramen.

Its a great watch for the price range and worth the price you'll pay at the sale prices. There are of course better watches at higher prices but thats a different review for a different time.

5Awesome!Jan 02, 2009
By Eric M. King ""The Observer""
I got this watch for an early birthday gift and I just love it. I had read the reviews but still liked the style and had to have it. I'm glad I did. It looks awesome! I own another Seiko the Kinetic version that I got about five years ago and wanted to have a new Seiko. So if you like the style as I did go for it. Don't worry bout being able to read the hands, for I have had no such issue. It was a great purchase.

3Seiko CoutouraDec 21, 2006

This is a very nice looking watch, but I find it quite difficult to see the gold hour and minute hands against the brown background. In fact, I have to move the watch around to catch the light so I can see the hands....they blend in with the backgroung that well which makes it frustrating since it is not a cheap watch.

5What a great price for a BEAUTIFUL watchNov 30, 2011
By Anasthia M. Johnson "love r and b"
I found this watch at Macy's and Zales, and just knew that I was going to have to pay $500 to get if for my fiance, so I was just blown away when I found it for $200. I was worried that it wasn't as cool of a watch as I had seen it in the store, but I've received it, and it's EXACTLY the same.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

5AWESOME WATCHApr 02, 2011
By Greg Gathman
I've had this watch for 4 years+ and this watch has performed flawlessly!! I love the style, dial color, and gold accents. I have yet to replace the battery (which I think is pretty amazing for a chronograph watch).
