Good watchSep 04, 2010
By bob It's a good watch. I seriously question that this is actually a gray-market item as it didn't come with a manual, just a warranty card. I blame that more on Seiko, they don't sell all their models everywhere, so I half expected it when I got it.
It's just like the other SNK809K watches, but with a metal band. It's easily user adjustable, it's not a pin and collar band, all you'll need is a push-pin or a paperclip. It's not a fancy band and does rattle a bit, but it has solid end links so it should at least stay together well. There are 3 micro adjustments on the band, so it should be easy to size it to your liking.
As for accuracy, it's a 7S26B movement. Mine ran fast for about the first week or so that I had it but it seems to have broken in and is keeping time spot on now, or at least less than +/- 1 sec a day so that I can't notice it. Since the movement is non-hacking, it's not for those very picky about being exactly correct. There is no hand winding either, so if you're not planning on wearing it frequently be prepared to set it often. Oh, setting the watch is easy, just make sure you get the AM/PM right on it, set the day/date a day earlier and then advance the time until it flips them and then set the time.
Not sure what else to say. It's hard to go wrong with a Seiko 5.

Sharp looking watchMar 23, 2012
By D. Baleckaitis I bought this reading various reviews of how the hollow stainless steel band looked and felt cheap. So I was ready to buy a different strap but now having it on for two days I have to say- WOW! Not only is this accurate about +2 second a day but I love the military style and the band is pretty nice also. The only thing I do not like is not being able to wind the watch with the crown. The size of this watch is about right for me..... with 7.5" wrist.

Quality control issueFeb 19, 2011
By B. Lopez It ran too fast, it gained 7-8 minutes per hour! Unacceptable. I had a Tissot Seastar Automatic and it only gained a minute in 5 days. Was not expecting this from Seiko. I really liked the simple construction and design, I could have it's time adjusted in a jewelry store but wouldn't want to pay more when it should be working properly in first place. Not worth the time. I have to return in.

Great time keeperDec 31, 2010
By Possum Ive had this watch two full years now. It keeps great time. Plus or minus about a second a day. It still looks great and makes me feel like a million bucks wearing it. I wear it every day. Not the most expensive. Not for extreme conditions. Though I did go mountain climbing with it once. Simple, light weight, elegant, and a great time keeper. Cheers!

Great value!Oct 05, 2010
By Banjo Player I have had this watch for about 5 months now and the accuracy, for an automatic, is fantastic. Less than 10 seconds per week fast. I am a watch lover, and collector, and this watch is one of the best values out there. Attractive, dependable, tough, and no battery to worry about. The Seiko 5 has a long history and many fans and this watch does not disappoint. I also like how versatile it is. It is nice with a sportcoat and is perfect for the beach, hiking, or on the water. Highly recommended.
