Excellent WatchJul 15, 2010

I bought this watch as my first expensive watch. As an athlete, all I've ever owned was some form of the black plastic runner's watch. Now, I wanted something that said conservative/classic. This watch fits the bill. I am pleased with every facet of the watch.
my man loves his watch but it scratches easilyFeb 15, 2012
By 1st time TAG buyer Order this watch for my sexy man and he loves it! Arrived with the fancy dancy box and all that jazz. Within the first 3 days of wearing the watch, there were scratches on links and on the clasp. You would think for such an expensive watch, the material would be more sturdy, but in fact, it's more fragile. :( Time keeping wise, the watch is fast be 8 sec every day.
Pros: Looks chic and classy. The 38mm face goes great on his small wrist. He loves it! :D Amazon gave free 1 day shipping. Amazon's great for purchasing a TAG watch because they offers a 3 year warranty, while TAGs only offers a 2 year warranty. You also get a $600 discount and no tax! :)
Cons: Expensive for a fragile watch that doesn't keep accurate time. Amazon ships through FedEx who delivers goods to your house at 1pm or 2pm when you're at work. Since they need a customer signature, they won't leave the watch unattended. This defeats the purpose of 1-day shipping now since you're required to wait a day for the doortag number so you can schedule a pick up at their office at a later date which is a pain because FedEx offices have limited operating hours. Just picking up the watch is a lot of hassle for someone who works.
Great!Jan 16, 2012
By Ines Tag is great! Price at Amazon is also great... received on time, everything as good as always in Amazon. I have bought 2 Tag watches in Amazon and very satisfied with both.
Nice watchDec 26, 2011
By WWII Buff I wanted to add this review after seeing a few negative ones. I've owned this watch for 4 years. I love it. I have had no issues with it and it keeps good time, although buy a watch winder if you don't plan on wearing it on the weekends since it only stays wound for about 24 hours if you don't wear it. But I think that is the way a self winding mechanism is intended to work based on the research I did. I also found that it gains a little time (about 3 minutes a month) but again, I think all self winding watches do gain some time. That is what makes the watch a one of a kind. If you want digital precision then buy a Casio.
I'm also glad that Amazon started selling these so the warranty applies? I bought mine from a jeweler since the warranty didn't apply if purchased online. But if Amazon is now a reseller, that takes a huge worry away.

Beautiful, classic time piece, yet 1 hold upJun 25, 2009
By A. Simotas I received this Tag Carerra as a gift about 4 months ago, after having desired it for over a year. This is a beautiful time piece that I really enjoy keeping and wearing, and hope to have forever. The black face makes reading the time even easier. The band is probably stainless steel, with a silver inner lining, and is amazingly comfortable. The links are small, and hence bend easily and flexibly. The snap is the best I have ever used, and seems like it will last a long time, unlike my Bulova's snap. Also, it seems to be somewhat resistant from scratching, which is typically a problem for a hard core Excel/computer user like myself.
The back of the watch is clear, so that you can witness the self winding mechanism. Ironically, this option is the only drawback. If you do not wear the watch, and take it off for more than 24 hours, you will probabaly find that it has lost the time, needing to be re-set. If this were my only watch, it would not be a problem. But since I take it off and on so much, leaving it laying around for a week or 2 every now and then means I have to re-set it. This annoying quirk ironically I believe is marketed as a big selling point.
Hence, for the understated and classic beauty, (ie not a flashy, ostentatious time piece), this watch receives high marks. But for the self winding mechanism, I am a little less than 100% enthused.
