1Poorly made and Tissot service is a scamJan 06, 2006
By Music Lover
I bought this Tissot watch for myself at the same time that I bought my wife's Tag Heuer. her Tag is great, but my Tissot stopped working one month after the warranty expired. I sent it back to Tissot (I disovered that they are actually owned by the Swatch group) expecting that it needed a simple battery replacement. Boy was I shocked to get their estimate for a $180 service! I called them to ask that the battery be changed first to see if that would get it going. The rep told me that they had examined the watch and that it needed their general service, in which moving parts are checked, lubed, blah, blah, for $180. I persisted with my requests to get them to just try a new battery but they refused. In the end, I asked them to return the watch to me. I took it to a local watch shop and guess what -- all it needed was a new battery. This cost me 9 bucks and I was back in business. Now the spring winder has fallen out of the watch. I'll go back to my local watch shop to see if this can be fixed. The construction of this watch is very disappointing. Worse still, Tissot/Swatch seems to be scamming their customers by insisting that returned watches need their expensive service, when in fact all mine needed was a battery. I'll never buy another Tissot or Swatch watch.

I'm an Amazon.com customer for some years already, but this is my first review, as many other men I'm a watch addict, this watch is the number 18 of my collection and I must say is one of the best I've.

It is a good looking watch, so far is working great, I'm from Brazil and over here this watch costs at least a couple of hundred dollars more, meaning a good saving for myself.

I really enjoy it.

That's all for the moment.

5Army tough and there when I need it!Feb 28, 2012

I bought this watch when I pinned Major in 2009. This watch has seen its fair share of excitement and it keeps going. I use the chronograph almost daily in my Crossfit workouts and its precision is without question. The weight is surprisingly heavy for its size and I like that. The luminance is great hours after going to bed and the band is easily adjustable.
I have to take it in to a repair shop this weekend to replace the battery. Its been three years and that's about time (no pun intended). I should do a follow up and tell you how much it cost.

56 years and still greatJan 29, 2012

My wife bought this for me while I was still in medical school. It is a mid range watch that I have found very reliable, nice looking and lasting. The sapphire face is still unscratched and it remains waterproof despite multiple bike wrecks, working in the yard, lifting, and swimming daily. Time is accurate...I adjust maybe twice a year. I frequently get compliments on the looks and use it in my daily rounds as a physician. I have had the pins which attach the band replaced multiple times after wrecks and other abuse...maybe 1x/year.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this watch. Good value, good looks, waterproof and tough.

I have four watches, all bought for between $300 and $1000 - so, I like decent quality watches but do not spend exorbitant amounts compared to many buyers.

This Tissot is a my favorite and my day-to-day watch. I have work it swimming, in the hot tub, in the shower almost daily, etc. It has retained its shine and the crystal is as a clear as the day I received it. The bevel is a true diver's bevel, it only turns to the left -- but don't wear a shiny watch while snokeling or you'll attrack predators! It keeps excellent time and the chronograph is useful. The numbers glow very well, I can still read them five hours after I go to bed.

Con: the numbers on the chronograph dials and for the date are quite small.
